GATHERINGS

Gatherings and Social Circles ("Bubbles")

What's the difference?

  • A "gathering" is a get-together where people need to physically distance. (It doesn't have to be the same people at each gathering.) When gathering with people from outside your household, stay two metres (6 feet) apart. And wear a non-medical mask where maintaining physical distancing is difficult and where masks are mandatory. This applies to both indoor and outdoor gatherings.

  • A "social bubble" is a consistent, committed group of a limited number of people (always the same people) who can interact and come into close contact with one another without physical distancing.

The limits on the number of people allowed at gatherings and in social bubbles in Ontario may change frequently as public health authorities monitor and respond to the spread of the virus. Social bubbles may or may not be permitted.
